How Dare They?!

It’s been awhile, dear blog but I knew that once life slowed down a bit I would be back. It is kind of silly to say that though, because when does life really slow down? I have come to realize, only very recently, that the best time to put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) is when life is at peak insanity.

I felt compelled to write this today because hubby and I have really just finally came to the realization that yes, it is okay to do crazy things, follow your own path, travel frequently, and understand that the safe way may not be the best way. I hear so often about us, and other young people who make it a point to truly live the life they imagine-“how dare they?!”. How dare these people go on multiple trips a year, enjoy great food and new places, start a business, fail at things, start more things and still come out smiling.

We are a part of a very unique generation. We have the highest student debt balances, the most people living with their parents, struggling to find the work we spent all that college money on,  waiting to truly begin our lives. Hubs and I are very blessed, mainly due to our tenacity and work ethic that we do have great jobs at our age. We have achieved the best possible financial security for being 6 figures each in loan debt. We have started our own business that we are working to grow even more. We have three fur babies that are amazing. We go on at least two trips a year.

How dare we? The answer is simple. Life is not meant to be lived in one place. Work is not meant only for an office with four walls. Many of the trips we take are directly related to the work we do, for day jobs or our business. The things I learn and the knowledge I gain from different places, different cultures, and a break from the norm are life changing.

There have been many times that we have gone places and done things where hubby has made a point to tell me, “don’t put this online”. Being humble is a great thing. We don’t put our adventures out there to brag, but for the opposite reason-we want to inspire. I want people to see that anything is possible. I want everyone to know that you don’t have to feel bad for your successes. You can share them and hopefully inspire your friends and your family to aspire to their own dreams, whatever they may be.
