If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans…

As humans, we are constantly adapting. From daily mood swings to quarter and mid life crises, how we foresee our futures can change instantly. I had always been a go with the flow person in my younger days. Whatever happened, happened and I was down with that. As I got older, I slowly transitioned into a control freak. I wanted to have things planned out…every little thing actually. With the biggest dreams and the best laid plans, how could I lose?

But life sometimes did not meet eye to eye with the plans I was making. Many things, big and small, beyond my control, completely turned things around and left me to make quick transitions to adapt. One thing I’ve learned is that sometimes, there is just a way things are going to turn out, and no matter how much you think, feel, or say otherwise there is just no stopping this. Sometimes, everything happens as planned, sometimes they don’t.

People always ask hubby and I what’s next? What is going on, where are we living, when will we start a family. I always secretly wonder how much people actually care about this information and how much they just want to use to gossip or judge, but anyway, back on topic… We do have a lot going on, a lot of opportunities before us, which we will figure out. Why it is important to random people we rarely see, I’m not sure, but I do know that we’ve got it under control and whatever is supposed to happen just will. Part of me wants to carry a sign around that says “stay tuned, we’re figuring it out!”.

Bad things and situations don’t last forever, things change and get better and all we can do is work hard, prepare, have a vision and some back up plans, and have faith.
